Rhetorical Act Chapter 9

The discussion in Chapter 9 was about the subject and purpose of an act, and why it is important. The subject must be understood by the audience or the rhetorical act is pointless and doing nothing for the audience's advancement in knowledge. If it is clear that most of the listeners are not connecting with what is being said, the speaker should find a way to break it down to a level where grasping the concept is much easier. The purpose of an act is what the speaker is trying to get or give from the audience. For example, donations is a reason why a speaker will try to make points in an act so people will go in their wallets and give money.
